Cachar AAP prepares for poll battle from grassroots level
SILCHAR, July 28: Cachar Aam Aadmi Party has started its preparation for next year’s parliamentary elections by launching its units in block levels across the district by next month.
The resolution for block level committees was taken today by the members of the party at a meeting held here under the presidentship of Nirmal Kumar Das. Initially, the units of Aam Aadmi party will be formed at Silchar, Udarbond, Borkhola, Katigorah, Kalain, Borjalenga, Narsingpur, Binnakandi, Rajabazar, Sonai, Palangghat and Lakhipur blocks.
During the meeting, the block secretaries submitted their progress report regarding the formation of full–fledged committees.
Dilip Kumar, coordinator, Cachar Aam Aadmi Party, said that unprecedented corruption has pushed the people to the brink of destitution and poverty. The tentacles of corruption according to him have spread over all the departments from health to defence in the country, making the life of the denizens miserable.
He said that whenever people raised their voices against corruption, almost all the political parties comes out together to shut the voices. This only has revealed that all the parties irrespective of their political ideologies are same and they abet all sorts of anomalies and irregularities, he alleged.
Aam Aadmi Party leader said that they vowed to work towards creating a system where the elected political leaders will be directly answerable to the voters. He also spoke on the vision of AAP.
Budha Pratim Deb, district secretary, threw light on the different problems faced by the people of the country. Other members of the party who included Fosi Khan, Parimal Sinha and Afjal Hussain spoke on the occasion.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), formed by a social activist, Arvind Kejriwal, is a “political party”, registered under Section 29A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. However, its symbol is yet to be declared by the Election Commission.
Among distinguished personalities of the town present at the meeting included Haridas Dutta, secretary of Nagarik Sartha–Raksha Sangram Parishad, Digendra Chandra Das, and Bulbul Laskar today officially joined the Party as member.
