Guwahati Run and Walk 2013
Guwahati Run and Walk is an event to raise awareness about a few remarkable persons and their organizational work namely Lanu A Aimol, who runs SHED a school for the physically and mentally-challenged children, Pradip Sarma, founder of the rickshaw bank, Kaushik Das, who is providing working opportunities to the disabled, Father Lukose, founder of 'Snehalaya' shelter homes and Uttam Teron who runs Parijat Academy for underprivileged children. This year the event was led by noted Gandhian Natwar Thakkar . It was also a pleasant coincident that Pradip Sarma received the Livelihood Promotion Awards from Dr. C Rangarajan, Hon’ble Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India , the day before the event and Mr. Sarma shared the proud moment with the participants on the day of the event i.e. 6th January 2013.
